University of Brasilia, March 8-12, 2021
Prof. Dr. Francisco Augusto Tourinho was one of the pioneers in nanoscience research in Brazil. Prof. Tourinho contributed strongly to the research and development of magnetic fluids. He was an Associate Professor at the Institute of Chemistry - Universidade de Brasília and a great enthusiast of international cooperation, mainly with Sorbonne Université (UPMC), where he carried out a significant part of his scientific formation. Professionally, he managed to reconcile creativity and methodology in his research. In person, an extrovert who always emphasized the fun side of everyday life.
The Complex Fluids Group of UnB , in order to keep his memory alive, has invited colaborators / friends to an international scientific meeting, the type of event which Prof. Tourinho was more fond of. In this edition, the event will consist of two modules: lectures and an introductory minicourse. The lectures, given in English, will take place during the morning shift and will address research topics in the area of Nanoscience. In the afternoon shift, introductory courses in Portuguese will be taught in order to arouse the interest of graduate, undergraduate and high school students in the areas of study in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology.
The 2021 edition will be completely online due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the opening will be chaired by Professors Jérôme Depeyrot (IF-UnB) and Régine Perzynski (Sorbonne Universités - Paris / France). We thank you in advance for your participation in the 4a Jornada Francisco Tourinho.
